Miss Bea wants…to be

I’ve no idea how things are looking in your neck of the woods but here in Berlin we are experiencing an Indian Summer and it’s pretty amazing. I was just out eating lunch at a cafe along the water with my son and there we were, sitting in the warm sunshine, eating delicious breads and fruits and watching the fashionable folk (and the not so fashionable ones) of Berlin saunter by. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Lovely. Now, back home for nap time (my son’s, not my own) and I decided that a new post was in order!

Here’s the second of my ‘Miss Bea wants…to be’ features. This time it’s a focus on the wonderful British songstress with the familiar name ‘Eliza Doolittle’. A London ‘bird’ through and through, I love her not only for her music but also for the amazing retro and vintage pieces she wears both in her videos and whilst out and about. 50s – Darlings Little Mink – camel colored wool childs coat with fur collar – full pleated skirt

And YES it’s fully lined – in MAUVE. So lovely!

Adorable – but flawed.
this has been in storage for MANY years. a trip to the cleaners first and
foremost should be in order once it reaches you.
There is also some moth damage. Mostly nibbles on the sleeves and back
but on the left sleeve there’s a cluster of actual holes.
It’s sad – but if this is going to be a costume or a prop then it’s got SO much
life and love left to offer.

Once upon a time I had a wardrobe full of black. Literally! There may have been a slight spattering of grey and the hint of blue (just of the denim kind) but that was about as adventurous as I got when it came to colour. Times have changed though and with age came a lust for colour! Amy Winehouse Meets Fred Perry

After a way too long break (sorry folks but life took over for a while and left me little time for blogging) I am back.

With Amy Winehouse’s recent death, there was the possibility that her designs for Fred Perry would never come to light, however, it appears that her family have given the go ahead for them to launch her collection posthumously with royalties and fees that would have gone to her had cirumstances been different, going to a soon to be founded charity in her name.
